Tickets will go on sale in mid-December for the 2025 Annual Tour of Homes.
The 2024 Annual Tour of Homes will welcome you to beautiful and unique homes in the exclusive St. Simons Island enclave of Fredrica Township.
Frederica, perhaps one of the remaining best kept secrets of the Golden Isles, is a premier private club and community north of Christ Church on St. Simons Island. The 3,000 acre property encompasses 400 acres of man-made freshwater lake stocked with trophy bass. Draped in a canopy of oaks by a centuries-old maritime forest, the community is almost of another era.
Impressive throughout Frederica is the attention to preserving the natural landscape both in the Club and amenity areas of Frederica and in the improvement of privately owned home sites. A set of Standards and Design guidelines govern the growth of the community and are designed to preserve and enhance the natural environment, native forest and wildlife. These guidelines also assist in achieving a continuity that embraces residential architecture, varied in style, yet consistent in design quality and craftsmanship.
Tickets must be presented at the event
Everyone attending the Annual Tour of Homes MUST have a ticket with them to present before boarding a bus. This can be a computer printed ticket displaying the correct bar code that was printed after being ordered online, or a Mobile ticket on your cell phone - displaying the bar code specific to your own ticket. Order confirmations or emails without a bar code CANNOT be used for admission. Only a printed ticket or a Mobile ticket with a bar code will be accepted.
All parking will be at Christ Church and Wesley Church (just around the corner). There will be NO on-site vehicle access to any of the homes in Frederica Township and parking of personal vehicles in Frederica is strictly prohibited.
Sea Island has graciously dontated buses which will provide all transportation from Christ Church to Frederica Township. Shuttle buses will provide transportation between the featured homes at Frederica.
Elevate your Tour day by joining us at the idyllic Frederica Boathouse for a VIP lunch experience. The limited seating Luncheon will include a gourmet boxed lunch prepared by the Frederica Culinary Team and a presentation by local historian, Wheeler Bryan, who will detail the history of the Frederica area from colonial times through development of today's exclusive Frederica Community.
There will be two lunch seatings, at 11:30 am and 1:00 pm, and the cost for either is $200 per person (including access to all Tour sites).
Both seatings have limited availability; we encourage you to purchase early.
JUST ANNOUNCED!
Exciting News! The new and long-awaited Christ Church cookbook, “Beneath the Oaks” will be released on March 16 at the 2024 Tour of Homes! The cookbook is hot off the presses, and goes on sale *first* exclusively to Tour ticket-holders. Cookbooks will be available for purchase for $40 (including tax) at the Tour Hospitality center in the Parish Hall throughout the day; attendees of the VIP luncheon at the Frederica Boathouse will also be able to buy copies at that event. Filled with mouth-watering recipes and a splendidly written history of the church and its island home, this display-quality book is illustrated with dozens of full-page, full-color photos of beautiful cuisine as well as of the stained-glass windows at Christ Church and St. Ignatius.
The Docents of Christ Church, Frederica will present historical narratives from 10:30 am until 4:00 pm in various places in and around the church and the Parish Hall. Highlights include: how Anglican worship began on St. Simons Island in 1736 when General James Oglethorpe arrived with two newly ordained Church of England priests, brothers Charles and John Wesley and the formation of our Parish in 1808 as a Protestant Episcopal Church on the heels of the Revolutionary War with the first church structure built in 1820.
Hear how Anson G.P. Dodge arrived on the island as a 19-year old in 1879 to observe his family’s lumber mill and was so moved by the little parish that he entered Seminary in New York in order to return to St. Simons Island to minister and build a new church with his own funds, replacing the 1820 structure.

End your day's discoveries with a spiritual walk of the Christ Church Labyrinth located a short distance across the road from Christ Church.
Dedicated in December 2022, the Labyrinth at Christ Church, Frederica, is a welcomed addition to the Christ Church campus. Nestled on the wooded path from Frederica Road to the Wesley Memorial Garden, it offers guests a unique opportunity for respite, reflection, and rejuvenation. Embraced by many faith traditions and cultures, a labyrinth is a walking meditation or prayer. A large circle with a single path that winds back and forth, moving alternatively toward and away from the center, labyrinths are a metaphor for life.

"Christ Church Frederica is one of the most beautiful places I've ever constructed a labyrinth. Surrounded by live oaks and other majestic trees draped with Spanish moss, the labyrinth embraces an open sky. One can’t help but feel surrounded, supported, and nurtured by nature." - Chuck Hunner, Golden Spirit Labyrinths, goldenspirit.com
